The scope and philosophy of Great East Festivals is to serve as a support system for your music performance groups. Our criterion for musical and educational experiences is of the highest caliber. On the basis of these standards, you can be assured that all of our festivals will be geared to the needs of students and teachers/conductors.
Great East Festivals events are non-competitive and geared to musical organizations of all sizes, grades, and ability levels. Performances are followed by a fun-filled experience in one of New England’s outstanding amusement parks. Requests for performance times are honored on a first come, first serve basis. Register as quickly as possible, and be sure to request several alternate time slots. The prime times are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and they go quickly.
Our adjudicators take into consideration rehearsal schedules -- one day per week or more, in school or after school, elective or selective. No matter what level of proficiency your group may be, our festival is an excellent opportunity for your students to perform in a non-threatening adjudication setting.
Great East Festivals offers an opportunity for performance in an educational atmosphere. All types of music groups are invited to participate. Performances can be scheduled for:
Concert Choir • Concert Band
Select Choir • Jazz Band
Show Choir • Wind Ensemble
Small Ensembles • Orchestra
Special arrangements can be made for parade bands and indoor color guard.
Our festival is open to all grade levels -- elementary, middle/junior high school, junior/senior high school, high school, and private school.
Each group will be adjudicated by two competent professionals. You will receive taped comments as well as score sheets. Tapes are provided by Great East Festivals. Our events allow time for a clinic with your group, giving them the opportunity to receive a formative evaluation. Clinicians will offer your students suggestions for growth and improvement, as well as fostering a feeling of accomplishment and well-being.
